About Lycorhinus
Lycorhinus is a genus of small, herbivorous ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, about 130-125 million years ago. It was a member of the family Ceratopsidae, which also includes well-known dinosaurs like Triceratops and Styracosaurus. Lycorhinus was a small dinosaur, with an estimated length of about 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) and a weight of around 500 kilograms (1100 pounds). It had a relatively long neck and a triangular head with a short, curved beak, as well as a pair of small horns on its brow and a larger, rounded frill on the back of its head. Like other ceratopsians, Lycorhinus likely used its beak and cheek teeth to grind up tough plant material, and may have lived in herds for protection. Fossils of Lycorhinus have been found in Africa and Asia.
