About Shantungosaurus

Shantungosaurus is a genus of hadrosaurid dinosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous period, about 72-66 million years ago. It was a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived in what is now China. Shantungosaurus was one of the largest hadrosaurids, with an estimated length of up to 15 meters (49 feet) and a weight of up to 8 metric tons. It had a distinctive appearance, with a long, narrow skull and a row of long, bony protuberances along the top of its head. Shantungosaurus is known from several well-preserved specimens, including one with a complete skull, which has helped scientists learn more about the anatomy and behavior of this species.
