About Hypacrosaurus
Hypacrosaurus was a type of hadrosaur, or duck-billed dinosaur, that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 76 to 73 million years ago. It was a large herbivorous dinosaur that is known for its distinctive hollow crest on the top of its head. The crest was likely used for display, possibly to attract mates or to intimidate rivals. Hypacrosaurus had a long, low, and narrow skull, with a long, thin snout and a small mouth lined with hundreds of small, interlocking teeth. Its body was heavily built, with powerful hind legs and a shorter, more slender tail. Hypacrosaurus is known from fossil specimens found in North America, particularly in Alberta and Montana.
