About Riojasaurus
Riojasaurus is a genus of herbivorous sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 150 million years ago. It was discovered in Argentina in 1991 and named after the Rioja Province in which it was found. Riojasaurus was a large, long-necked dinosaur with a small head and a long, whip-like tail. It likely walked on four sturdy legs and had a body mass of around 10-15 tons. It is thought to have lived in a warm, humid environment and may have lived in herds or social groups. Riojasaurus is known from a partial skeleton, which includes a few vertebrae, ribs, and part of a hind limb. Further study and the discovery of additional fossils will be necessary to fully understand the anatomy and behavior of this dinosaur.
