About Sinornithosaurus
Sinornithosaurus is a genus of small, feathered theropod dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, around 126 million years ago. It was a member of the Dromaeosauridae, a group of small, fast-moving predatory dinosaurs known for their distinctive, large, curved claws on the feet. Sinornithosaurus was about the size of a turkey, and it is thought to have been covered in feathers, although it is not known if it could fly or glide. It is known from a number of well-preserved fossil specimens found in China, including some that show evidence of feathers. Sinornithosaurus is considered to be an important transitional species in the evolution of birds, as it exhibits a number of avian-like characteristics.
