About Secernosaurus

Secernosaurus is a genus of ornithopod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 66-100 million years ago. It was a small to medium-sized herbivorous dinosaur that was characterized by its distinctive skull, which had a long and narrow snout and large, forward-facing nostrils. It is known from fossil remains found in Argentina and is classified as a member of the family Camptosauridae. The only known species of Secernosaurus is S. koerneri. It is thought that Secernosaurus may have been an ancestor of the more well-known hadrosaurid dinosaurs, also known as 'duck-billed' dinosaurs.
