About Yinlong

Yinlong is a genus of small herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 156 to 145 million years ago. It was a member of the family of basal ceratopsians called Psittacosauridae. It was a small, bipedal dinosaur with a short, triangular skull and a short snout. It had a pair of small, triangular horns on its head and small, triangular frills on the back of its skull. It also had small, sharp teeth that were adapted for eating plants. Yinlong is known from several well-preserved specimens found in the Junggar Basin of Xinjiang, China.
