Description: Yingshanosaurus is a genus of herbivorous stegosaurian dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period (about 150 million years ago) in what is now China. It was a relatively small stegosaur, with an estimated length of about 6 meters (20 feet) and a weight of around 1 ton. It had a short, wide head with a small beak and a series of small, triangular plates along its neck, back, and tail. These plates were connected by long, thin spines, and were used for defense against predators. Yingshanosaurus also had four sturdy, pillar-like legs and a pair of long, thin tail spikes. It is known from a single well-preserved specimen, which was discovered in the Yingshan Formation in the Sichuan Province of China.
