About Tenontosaurus

Tenontosaurus is a genus of ornithopod dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, around 115 to 108 million years ago. It was a relatively large dinosaur, measuring up to 8 meters (26 feet) in length and weighing up to 1 ton. It had a long, low body and a relatively small head with a beaked mouth. It was a herbivore, and is thought to have eaten a wide variety of plants, including ferns and other low-lying foliage. Tenontosaurus is known from fossil specimens found in North America, including Montana, Oklahoma, and Texas. It was likely a common animal in its habitat, and may have lived in large herds.
