About Supersaurus
Supersaurus was a large sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic Period, around 155-150 million years ago. It was a herbivorous dinosaur that likely lived in what is now North America. Supersaurus was one of the longest and heaviest dinosaurs ever to have lived, with an estimated length of up to 110 feet (33 meters) and a weight of up to 70 tons. It had a long neck, a small head, and a long, whip-like tail. It also had long, slender legs and small arms with five-fingered hands. Like other sauropods, Supersaurus probably used its long neck to reach high into trees to feed on leaves and other plant material. It is known from a few partial skeletons that have been found in the Morrison Formation in Colorado, Wyoming, and Oklahoma.
