About Rinchenia

Rinchenia is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, about 160 million years ago. It is known from fragmentary remains found in the Dashanpu Formation of China. Rinchenia was a large, long-necked dinosaur with a small head and a long, whip-like tail. It is thought to have been a herbivore, feeding on plants using its peg-like teeth. The specific function of the large, bony protuberances on its head is not known, but they may have been used for display or defense. Rinchenia is known from only a few bones, so much about its appearance and behavior is still unknown.
