About Pentaceratops
Pentaceratops was a herbivorous ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 76 to 73 million years ago. It was a large animal, with an estimated length of around 6 to 7 meters (20 to 23 feet) and a weight of around 5 to 6 metric tons. It is known for its distinctive skull, which had a large, flat frill with five long, curved horns. The horns were likely used for display and possibly for defense against predators. Pentaceratops had a short, stocky body, with four sturdy legs and a long, heavy tail. It is believed to have lived in herbivorous herds and may have used its strong beak and cheek teeth to crush tough plant material. Fossils of Pentaceratops have been found in North America, specifically in what is now New Mexico and Alberta, Canada.
