About Othnielia
Othnielia is a genus of small, herbivorous dinosaurs that lived during the Early Jurassic period, around 190 million years ago. It was named after Othniel Charles Marsh, an American paleontologist who discovered the first known specimen in 1881. Othnielia was a member of the group of dinosaurs called ornithischians, which also included species like stegosaurs and hadrosaurs. It was a small dinosaur, measuring only about 1.5 meters (5 feet) in length and weighing around 45 kilograms (100 pounds). It had a relatively long neck and a small head, and its body was covered in small, scaly skin. It is believed that Othnielia may have used its small, sharp teeth to feed on ferns and other low-lying plants.
