About Nemegtosaurus
Nemegtosaurus was a species of large herbivorous sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, approximately 70 million years ago. It was a member of the Diplodocidae family, which included some of the longest and most massive dinosaurs that ever lived. Nemegtosaurus was native to what is now Mongolia, and its fossils have been found in the Nemegt Basin of the Gobi Desert.
Nemegtosaurus was a long-necked, four-legged dinosaur with a relatively small head and long, whip-like tail. It had a distinctive feature in the form of small, bony protuberances on the top of its head, which may have served as a display structure. Based on the size of its known fossils, Nemegtosaurus is estimated to have been around 20 meters (65 feet) long and weighed around 20 metric tons. It likely fed on a wide variety of plants, including trees, shrubs, and ferns, and may have used its long neck and small head to browse for food in the treetops.
