About Maxakalisaurus
Maxakalisaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period in what is now Brazil. It was a large herbivorous dinosaur, with a length of around 30 meters (98 feet) and a weight of around 20 tons. The most distinctive feature of Maxakalisaurus is the elongated neural spines on its vertebrae, which were likely used for display or for regulating body temperature. Its skull was relatively small compared to its body size, and it had a long, flexible neck that would have allowed it to reach high into trees to feed on foliage. It is thought to have been closely related to other sauropods such as Diplodocus and Apatosaurus.
