About Massospondylus

Massospondylus is a genus of sauropodomorph dinosaur that lived during the Early Jurassic period, about 193 to 183 million years ago. It was a relatively small dinosaur, measuring about 5 to 6 meters (16 to 20 feet) in length and weighing about 1 tonne. Massospondylus had a long neck and tail, and walked on four sturdy legs. It had a small head with a long, slender snout and small, leaf-shaped teeth, suggesting that it may have been a herbivore. Massospondylus is known from several well-preserved specimens found in South Africa and Zimbabwe.
