About Magyarosaurus
Magyarosaurus is a genus of small, plant-eating dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, about 70-66 million years ago. It was a member of the group of dinosaurs known as hadrosaurs, or 'duck-billed dinosaurs', which were characterized by their long, flat snouts and rows of cheek teeth that were used for grinding up plant matter. Magyarosaurus is known from a single specimen, consisting of a partial skull and jaw, that was discovered in Hungary in the 1930s. Based on this specimen, it is estimated that Magyarosaurus was about 3 meters (10 feet) long and weighed around 200 kilograms (440 pounds). It is thought to have lived in a humid, forested environment, and may have traveled in herds for protection from predators.
