About Ligabuesaurus
Ligabuesaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 150 million years ago. It is known from partial remains found in Argentina, including a portion of the skull, a few vertebrae, and some limb bones. Ligabuesaurus was a large herbivorous dinosaur, likely reaching lengths of up to 30 meters (98 feet) and weighing several tons. Its skull was relatively small compared to its body size, and it had a distinctive elongated snout with large nostrils. It is classified as a member of the Diplodocidae, a group of sauropods known for their long necks and tails and relatively slender builds. Ligabuesaurus is named after Argentine paleontologist Guillermo Ligabue, who funded the excavation of the fossil remains.
