About Kritosaurus

Kritosaurus is a genus of hadrosaurid dinosaur that lived in North America during the Late Cretaceous period, about 66 to 70 million years ago. It was a herbivorous dinosaur that is known from fragmentary remains, including a partial skull and mandible. Kritosaurus was a relatively small hadrosaurid, with an estimated length of about 7 meters (23 feet). It had a distinctive crest on the top of its head, which may have been used for display or to produce vocalizations. Kritosaurus was likely a social animal that lived in herds and roamed across the floodplains and forests of the Late Cretaceous. It is known from fossils found in the Western Interior Basin of North America, including in Texas, New Mexico, and Alberta.
