About Huayangosaurus
Huayangosaurus is a genus of stegosaurid dinosaur that lived during the Early Jurassic period, approximately 200 million years ago. It was a small, quadrupedal dinosaur that stood on its hind legs and used its tail and spine as weapons. Huayangosaurus had a short, triangular head with small, toothless beaks and small, sharp teeth that were probably used for catching and eating insects and other small animals. It had a long, narrow neck and a body that was covered in bony plates and spikes. The plates on its back and tail were arranged in pairs, with one plate on either side of the spine, and the spikes on its tail were used for defense. Huayangosaurus is known from a number of well-preserved specimens that have been found in China.
