Description: Buitreraptor is a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived during the early Cretaceous period, about 130 million years ago. It was a small, lightly built dinosaur with long arms and legs, and a long tail. Buitreraptor had a number of features that are characteristic of dromaeosaurids, including a large, sickle-shaped claw on the second toe of each foot, and serrated teeth that were specialized for slicing through flesh. It is known from a single fossil specimen found in Argentina, which consists of a partial skeleton including the skull, jaws, and some limb bones. Buitreraptor was named in 2010, and is one of the few dromaeosaurid dinosaurs known from South America.
